Bear Lake Reunion

We left for vacation on July 30 and drove all day to West Des Moines, Iowa. It was a rather uneventful day in the car. The kids were good--slightly loud, annoying and whiny--but overall I can't really complain. We ate lunch at Culver's which is always a highlight for us. We had fun doing mad-libs--a few of them really had us laughing. We stayed at a really nice Holiday Inn and splurged on dinner at the Olive Garden. The next day was Sunday. We attended sacrament meeting at a local ward and then hit the road again. Destination: Cheyenne, Wyoming.

On Monday we arrived at Bear Lake for a Green reunion. It was so fun to see everyone. We had 1 grandpa, 9 siblings (out of 13), 7 spouses, 22 cousins, 1 uncle and 2 aunts. It was a full house! We spent 5 days at the beach playing, jet skiing, boating, eating, visiting, and getting busted by the ranger. Natalie and Megan both got up on a wake-board.
This is the epic picture of Natalie wake-boarding. Unfortunately one of Megan does not exist.
Isaac turned 4 while we were there. He got to share his birthday cake with 15 of his cousins. Not bad (although he still hasn't gotten any presents--we're working on it!). It's the curse of the summer birthday--he'll usually have cousins around but he'll rarely be home to get presents. Oh well. At this point he's still too young to care or notice. On Friday, we took a break from the beach and went to Paris, Idaho. We toured the beautiful tabernacle, played a too brief game of Ultimate Frisbee at the park, and hiked to a spring. The change of scenery was nice. One of my favorite parts of the reunion was playing games at night after the kids went to bed--we played many rounds of Psychiatrist. We also had a talent show which was mostly hilarious. Those are the highlights. I love this family! We had such a great time and we can't wait for the next reunion in 3 years!!
