4th of July

We had a fun 4th of July weekend. Jonathan took Friday off and we went camping with our friends, the Stewarts. We were able to snag two spots at the Bong State Recreation Area--dumb name, I know. It was beautiful, but there were way too many mosquitoes. Thank goodness for deet. After lunch, we hung out at the beach. The water was pretty cold but I've noticed that never keeps the kids out.

There was one mosquito net that we took turns wearing. I told Jonathan he has permission to buy 5 more.
We had a great fire going and ate yummy tinfoil dinners and plenty of s'mores.

Isaac had a rough weekend. Two separate falls had most of his face scratched up.

Isaac did not sleep well (translation: neither did we!). He crashed once we got home Saturday morning. We had to wake him up to go to the local parade. Fortunately he did get a 2 1/2 hour nap later. Isaac watching the parade. It was a great parade. Lots of candy. Cool. Overcast. Not too long. The firemen handed out little flags--Isaac and Karen loved waving them.

We finished out the day with a BBQ at the Thomas' and the local fireworks show. We were all wiped out after a fun weekend.
