Diary of a Trip, Days 4-5

Day 4 added Peter and his girlfriend Courtney to the mix. I woke up early Tuesday morning to the sound of Peter being attacked by his nieces and nephews. He is such a good sport. Courtney is delightful--it was so fun to spend time with her and get to know her.We went to a state park to swim. There was a nice beach area and a lake with a roped off swim area. We made a sand castle and played keep away in the water. Not enough pictures since I hate having the camera out in the sand. That evening we went out for ice cream, then put some very tired kids to bed. Jonathan and I were introduced to Community and Psych that evening. Since we're almost current with NCIS we needed a new show to be hooked on.
Day 5 we got 2 brave babysitters to watch our kids while the adults headed into Boston to be tourists. Peter and Courtney had gone in that morning and the rest of us met up with them in the afternoon after Adam could get off work. It was SO hot (90s--typical of our visits to large cities, it seems). We walked along part of the Freedom Trail. We saw an old graveyard, some historic churches, Boston Common, Faneuil Hall, etc. We went for a relaxing ride on the Swan Boats. We were so hot and tired by this point. Then we walked back to our starting point and found a yummy restaurant for dinner.
The babysitters and the kids were all alive when we got home.
